In 1996, Master Tommy Chang introduced Grand Master Chang’s Taekwondo to Canada with its first location in downtown Toronto, which later became the headquarters for Grand Master Chang’s Taekwondo CANADA.

GMC Canada Headquarters is located north-east corner of Bloor and Dovercourt in downtown Toronto. With 28 years under our belt, Grand Master Chang’s Taekwondo is now one of the LARGEST Taekwondo organizations in the country with 5 branches spread across the GTA.

Master Tommy Chang, and his team, have seen tremendous changes over the years and witnessed improvements in each student from their training in Taekwondo. He has trained students, instructors, masters and school owners to become powerful leaders in society. His influence and guidance are second to none. This has helped to create a foothold for the Taekwondo community in Canada. Countless Taekwondo masters and schools across the country were enhanced and inspired as a result of Grandmaster Chang’s leadership and direction.

To this day, Grand Master Chang’s Taekwondo continues to serve the community by opening its doors to anybody who wishes to learn martial arts and receive the benefits from it. Grand Master Chang’s Taekwondo maintains its reputation by providing first-class facilities, top-quality instruction, and certified Master Instructors. We constantly focus on instilling positive character development to our students and parents.

Grand Master Chang’s Taekwondo HISTORY

Grand Master Chang’s Taekwondo originated in Raleigh, North Carolina, in 1986. It is under the leadership of Grandmaster Jun Lee, one of Master Tommy Chang’s most respected mentors and leaders. Grandmaster Jun Lee, along with Grandmaster Y.K. Kim and his original master, Grandmaster Tiger Kim, have helped him bring Grand Master Chang’s Taekwondo to be one of the top leading martial arts academy in Canada and undoubtedly the most influential organization in the country. He is eternally grateful for the guidance that he has received from them over his many years in the art of Taekwondo.
